Should I Try CrossFit?
The age-old question - to do or not to do.
So many people lose touch with their fitness as they get older. Naturally, as our responsibilities grow with careers and families it's often the first thing I see slip from peoples priorities is their own health and fitness. However how on earth are you meant to take care of others if you can't even take care of yourself?
What CrossFit has allowed adults to do again is find and enjoy their fitness again like when they were kids and teenagers. It gives them an outlet to grow their fitness qualities and reengage in activities that they thought were past them.
They get to lift weights, run, climb and generally have a lot of fun outside their serious responsibilities in life. So when people ask me if they should try CrossFit I say YES! It makes you enjoy using your body again and putting it to use. It gives you the opportunity to get stronger and fitter to grow older and be able to play with your kids and grandkids.
Other reasons why you should try CrossFit?
It helps you rediscover your zest for life and understanding that you can still do all the things with your body you could do as a kid.
By trying out CrossFit you even get the opportunity to meet other like-minded people and make new friends! I've seen friendships and relationships blossom and develop through trying CrossFit which is a wonderful thing to witness.
The most common question that I get from people asking me "should I try CrossFit" is that they're worried they're not yet fit or strong enough. Well, guess what, everyone was once a beginner and you will only improve by trying. If you find yourself a good CrossFit affiliate they should have a welcoming and highly qualified team of staff to make you feel welcome and at ease regardless of your current level of strength and fitness. They want to help you improve and get better and will have the tools to help you get there and should offer a beginners programme to get the process started for you to meet you at the level you're at. Trust them, you won't regret it.
