Getting Started

Interested in trying CrossFit…Here’s how to get started.

If you’re interested in getting started at CrossFit Boat Shed then there are several entry points for you to choose from:

Free Taster Session
If you are unsure where to begin then simply get in touch and come down for a free taster session which run on Sundays from 11am-12pm. We’ll have a sit down and chat about CrossFit and your goals and experience. We’ll then introduce you to some basic movements, warm you up and then run through a scaled workout for you to experience CrossFit firsthand at The Boat Shed. You will need to contact us in order to book your place for this session. If you have a small group of friends and want to do this as a group then this is also possible.

Fundamentals Course
Every athlete must complete the FUNDAMENTALS COURSE before they can join in group classes. This course will bring your fitness up to speed and teach you the foundations of CrossFit (movements, philosophy, nutrition), while giving us a chance to evaluate you. Regardless of your current level of of fitness, CrossFit can help you achieve all of your fitness goals. All you need is the will and desire to improve.

You must book onto the Fundamentals course by either ringing, emailing or dropping into the gym to see us. 3 x 2 hour fully coached, small group classes (3 sessions a week for 1 week). You must attend each day in order to complete the course. This course is a progression and builds upon the previous day. Fundamental courses run once a month and we take bookings of up to 10 people per course, so if you have a small group of friends who want to start CrossFit this is a great opportunity to do it together before you start group classes.

After completing the course you will be invited to join the CrossFit Group Training, as well as all the other classes that the Boat Shed offers.

The cost of the Fundamental is £45 per person and advanced payment is required. Once you have paid you are registered.

At CrossFit Boat Shed we work hard, but have a great time. The atmosphere is welcoming and the workouts are rewarding. There is nothing to be nervous about. Everyone was new at some point.
