Dan Forbes

Head Trainer

I grew up in west Wales and moved to Cardiff in 2000 to gain my personal training qualification. Since then I’ve gained a wealth of ‘in the trenches’ experience from honing my skills in various different roles within the industry, from a sports injury specialist for a top tier rugby side to strength & conditioning coach for Cardiff Blues age grade rugby. I don’t follow any one system of training but prefer to take the best bits from any system and apply them to my own principles and systems. This means my clients benefit from using methods that work and get results quickly and safely.
I currently compete in kettlebell sport competitions after many years playing rugby. I have also represented Wales multiple times in athletics from 400m to cross-country.

Dan is currently working towards his UKSCA accreditation.

Pete Rankin

Head Trainer

I grew up in Hong Kong until the age of 13 when I returned to the UK to further my education at boarding school and eventually University in Cardiff.

I always knew opening a gym was something that I wanted to do; I just didn’t know when it would happen. Certainly not this soon, however I am looking forward to the fun and challenging times ahead on this journey.

Upon completing my degree in Sports Management in 2009 I embarked on a Diploma in Personal Training which led me into setting up my own business of training regular people in a 1:1 environment. After meeting Dan and Mike in late 2009 we soon set up our original business of Hell’s Kettlebell’s bootcamp together before it blossomed into our current venture.
After playing rugby for many years I moved into competing in Kettlebell Sport competitions before my latest endeavour and love of CrossFit arrived. I thought I knew training until I tried this. The constant balance of weightlifting, gymnastics and high intensity cardio movements really push the body and mind to greater levels of fitness. I am dedicated to helping the people I train in their pursuit of conquering physical challenges and the mental fortitude that comes from the ability to overcome them.

Michael Johnson

Head Trainer

Michael joined the industry in 2009. Michael is an advanced kettlebell instructor, running and triathlon coach. Michael has a wealth of experience taken from competing in ironman competitions to the arduous marathon des sables event.
